Our Work.
What We Do
We are a youth led team committed at restoring hope in the most vulnerable areas of Uganda in operational
Bringing people together
to end poverty for good
At WOHF, we refuse to let poverty daunt us. The scale of global poverty is enormous – the World Bank estimates that 736 million people live in extreme poverty1. However our mission is to tackle this, one child, one family, one community at a time – because doing nothing just isn’t an option.
Empower The Girl Child
The project is focused towards adolescent girls and young women aged between 10-24 years living in Uganda. The project aims at providing access to education for young girls, empowering them with information on FGM and SRH and eventually empowering young women to be economically independent. The project will take a holistic communal approach by incorporating all community stakeholders to ensure young girls in the region have equal opportunities to better their lives.
Water and Sanitation
We work to construct water and sanitation facilities that outlast the emergency, while providing clear leadership and accountability in humanitarian response.
When children don’t have access to clean water, it affects their health, nutrition, education and learning abilities, thus impacting many aspects of their lives.
SRHR For Girls
Thsi projects exists because more Ugandan people should be able to enjoy their sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Everyone has the right to sexual and reproductive health. But not everyone realises they have this right.
We know that local organisations that are based in the community are often best placed to reach marginalised populations who do not realise their rights.
Education and Shelter
While some people/families are struggling with where to sleep. Other parents are struggling to take their children to school. This where Walk of Hope Foundation comes in.
We support poor families in rural and slum areas of Uganda with shelter needs by buying them small houses where they can stay with their families and also help support children from poor families with access to education.
Talent Promotion
We promote different talents of youths and young people in Uganda for the example Music, Dance and Drama Talents, Art and Crafts Talents and many more.
Many youths and young people in Uganda have God given talents that lack exposure, therefore we identify these children and youths with talents and expose them to various opportunities through TV and Radio host programs and via our social media platforms.
Skills Development and Empowerment
The goal of our skills development and empowerment project is to empower vulnerable women, youths, single mothers and school dropouts financially and socially.
Through our skills development and empowerment projects, we focus on empowering and supporting women and youths. More than 50 women and youths are enrolled to learn a skill so they can get a job as a tailor or hand crafts women and men, for instance.
