What We Do

We Educate, We Empower, We Elevate

At WOHF, we refuse to let poverty daunt us. The scale of global poverty is enormous – the World Bank estimates that 736 million people live in extreme poverty. However our mission is to tackle this, one child, one family, one community at a time – because doing nothing just isn’t an option.

Walk of Hope Skills Village

The WOHF Skills Village is our flagship social enterprise designed to bridge that gap by equipping youth with hands-on, marketable skills that prepare them for the real world. We offer training in computer literacy, digital skills, fashion design, hair and beauty, cake baking, language learning, study techniques, global ethics, and more. But this isn't just about learning skills-it's about transforming mindsets. We empower young people to become job creators, not job seekers- financially independent individuals who can uplift their families and communities.

Kiwamirembe Children's Home

Right now, in the heart of Kosovo Makindye slum, WOHF Kiwamirembe Children's Home is a lifeline for vulnerable children and youth who have no one else to turn to. But we're struggling-paying rent, providing daily meals, medical care, and the bare essentials is a constant challenge. Our dream is bigger-and brighter. With your support, we aim to raise £50,000 to buy land and build a permanent, safe, and loving home for our kids.

Feed The Hungry-Rupa Karamoja

Feed The Hungry is not just a food drop-it's a mission to break the cycle of hunger and dependency. With a focus on sustainability, we provide families with fast-growing food crop seedlings, construct boreholes for irrigation, and introduce long-term solutions that allow communities to feed themselves. Immediate food relief (posho, beans, etc.) helps meet urgent needs, but the heart of the project lies in restoration and resilience.

1000 Miles of Hope

This powerful annual campaign is more than just a program-it's a lifeline. 1,000 Miles of Hope empowers vulnerable youth in Kosovo Makindye with critical Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education, helping them make informed decisions, build healthy relationships, and rise from "zero to hero." Through peer education, family planning advocacy, and HIV/AIDS awareness in schools, we equip young adults to take control of their futures, fight for their dreams, and become change-makers in their families and communities. With an annual budget of 100 million UGX, your support can help us reach hundreds of young lives. Every mile we walk with them brings hope, healing, and a chance at a brighter future. Be the reason they rise. Fund a mile. Fund a dream.

Walk with Diginity Project

Because No Girl Should Miss Life Over Her Period Menstrual hygiene poverty continues to hold back thousands of girls in Uganda's rural communities-but together, we can change that. The WOHF Walk With Dignity Project is a powerful campaign reaching the underserved areas of Byakabanda (Rakai) and Rupa (Karamoja), fighting period stigma, school drop- out, and health risks through education, empowerment, and access to reusable sanitary pads.

Timeline Roots Channel

Timeline Roots Channel is a bold, youth-led media social enterprise born out of the Walk ofHope Foundation- empowering talented young people from Uganda's slums to rise from the ghetto and tell their stories through the lens of creativity and innovation.

suubi
Suubi Saving Scheme

WOHF Suubi Saving Scheme is planting seeds of financial freedom. "Suubi" means hope-and that's exactly what we're giving. This powerful social enterprise teaches our beneficiaries, especially young adults and their parents or guardians, how to save and manage money, no matter how little they earn.

Roots and Rhythms

WOHF Roots & Rhythms Music is more than just a crea- tive outlet-it's a powerful social enterprise transform- ing the lives of vulnerable children through music, dance, and drama. We identify raw talent from the slums of Kosovo and nurture it into professional skill-training children to sing, play musical instruments, perform diverse cultural dances, and express themselves with confidence and pride.
